Asma Elbadawi is a spoken word artist, basketball player, coach and activist. Asma has a Masters in Visual Art, and uses her platform to explore themes of gender, culture and faith.

Asma was born in Sudan and moved to Bradford at the age of 1. In 2016, Asma successfully lobbied FIBA, the International Basketball Federation to lift the ban on headgear to allow players to wear turbans, hijab an other religious headgear. Having performed internationally, and been recognised by the UN, she stands as one of the most unique Muslim women in Britain today.
