We're looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to support ABB's Quality Control Systems (QCS) at a key customer site in the PAPI West Region. You'll play a critical role in maintaining and servicing industrial control systems, ensuring reliability and uptime for our customers. This is a resident position, meaning you'll primarily work on-site, with occasional travel (~15%) for training and support.
Ideal for candidates with :
- Previous HVAC, automotive mechanical, or military technical experience
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude
- A desire to grow within industrial automation and process control
What You'll Do:
- Execute service work in line with ABB safety and quality standards
- Deliver exceptional customer service by planning and executing maintenance or repair work to meet expectations
- Troubleshoot technical issues on-site or remotely and perform diagnostics on QCS systems
- Collaborate with the customer to identify areas for operational improvement
-Prepare service material lists and ensure the availability and quality of parts and tools
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding job scope, timelines, and updates
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or process control, OR
- High School diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant technical or military experience
- Strong ability to read electrical diagrams and safely troubleshoot systems up to 240 VAC / 870 VDC
- Proficiency with electrical test tools such as voltmeters and multimeters
- Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety practices
- Must be comfortable working on-site with customers and occasionally traveling for training or support
