As a Middle Market Underwriter , you’ll take the lead on complex casualty accounts— including workers' comp, general liability, and commercial auto. You’ll manage new business and renewals, and work with loss-sensitive structures (large deductible, retro, captive). Collaboration with regional and national brokers will be central to building a profitable portfolio across the territory.

• Syracuse, NY / Greater Utica-Syracuse area (Hybrid)
• Candidates in upstate New York area also considered

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of carrier-based casualty underwriting experience
• Expertise in middle market accounts and loss-sensitive deal structures
• Strong broker relationships and market presence in your region
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• CPCU, ARM, or similar industry designations (highly valued)
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory
