Location –Denver (Onsite)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develop functional requirements.
  • Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Designs and tests components and integrate components to produce final product.
  • Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.

Job Details and Requirements

  • Have to be able to support/maintain all communications across CO. Alamar DATA, SCADA, Test DSL circuits.
  • Have to pass a background check. Access into substations, knowing fire rating systems, PPE required,
  • Knowledge of electrical grid. Largely field based. Will report to a service center in the morning to receive jobs for the day. Will be getting site tickets via ServiceNow queue. Start day look at queue and go from there. Needs to be self-managed.
  • Working closely with Leads, 18 other techs. No external vendors. This resource will need to be both a self-driven individual contributor in addition to a collaborative team player.
  • High potential risks or safety considerations associated with this role, particularly if the responsibilities extend beyond a standard desk or office environment
  • Resource will train and mentor with current technicians. With the required experience, resources should be up to speed in a few months.
  • work hours/shift - on-call for 24/7 operation.

Skill Set Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience with prior telecommunications/voice/data background. Knowing difference between cat 5/6, fiber optics, knowing difference between. Valid DL, will be provided with vehicle.
  • Preferably a clean record. Knowledge of SAP. Dealing with level II, level III networking. Sienna/Nokia networks. Must have the ability to learn. Some knowledge of ServiceNow. PPE provided at substation. Boots will be expended. High school diploma is fine, field experience over education.
  • Self-managed, team player, take instruction, being coachable.
  • Ideal candidate background and how many years required? 5-7 years of previous field tech experience. Preferred candidates from companies like Century link/comcast.

Nokia certification, CISCO certifications/boot camp.
