Job Description

FIT Recruiting is looking for a proactive and adaptable HR Generalist to join a well-established and growing team at a manufacturing company in Mobile, Alabama. This role includes recruitment, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee termination, payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The salary ranges from $50K to $60K depending on experience, plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct effective onboarding of new employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for recruiters, assisting with job postings, interviews, and offers.
  • Support employee relations efforts, including responding to routine employee inquiries, assisting with retention initiatives, and maintaining accurate HR records.
  • Process biweekly payroll and administer employee benefits, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Collaborate with the IT provider on light IT needs such as equipment distribution, access management, and troubleshooting fundamental issues.
  • Assist with HR reporting and maintain compliance with all applicable employment regulations.
  • Act as a resource for the company teams, supporting their HR needs professionally and proactively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on environment with a supportive yet firm approach.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
