Job Title: Engineer Technician(GIS)
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6-month Contract with Ext
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in creating/editing utility design drawings using AutoCAD, GIS, and related tools
Conduct basic field data collection (e.g., pole measurements, GPS)
Update project databases and assist in assembling permit packages
Perform basic pole loading analysis (training provided)
Support design team with QA/QC-ready documentation
Tools & Software:
AutoCAD, GIS, AUD, Google Earth, O-Calc/Pole Foreman, MS Office
Field Work:
Field visits for observational data collection (no contact with energized equipment)
PPE and rental vehicle provided
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
1–3 years in drafting, technical, or construction support role
Basic CAD/GIS proficiency
Comfortable working in field and office settings
