Digital Acquisitions Marketing Manager for Click-Based Outbound (Hybrid)

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for an in-house team of marketing specialists who manage the day-to-day operations for a set of Capital One’s digital acquisitions channels - display direct response. This team is responsible for our digital advertisements in Google Demand Gen and Yahoo Mail, as well as new channel pilots. These tactics are focused specifically on driving conversions, rather than awareness. This role involves setting channel strategy, supporting product initiatives across a diverse organization, enhancing how the team operates, and constantly looking for ways to optimize the broader program. This Manager should have experience in the paid email advertising space, for example working with Google, Yahoo, media agencies, and/or other relevant platforms/partners and will advise on industry updates and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, train and manage a team of associates to build and execute display campaigns and launch additional digital marketing channels  

• Serve as the subject matter expert in digital direct response marketing with deep knowledge of campaign settings, optimization techniques, creative and automation

• Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, betas, and new channel opportunities

• Develop and execute channel roadmaps, including; audience expansions, creative experiments, landing page testing, ad format pilots, and new channel launches

• Collaborate with internal partners - including brand marketing, customer experience, compliance, & legal - to develop digital strategies for product launches, run tests and scale opportunities to grow new customer acquisition

• Craft the channel’s creative strategy and work with internal and external resources to produce digital ads 

• Oversee daily management of display campaigns from planning and execution to analysis and reporting; launch campaigns error-free and identify opportunities for performance optimizations

• Partner with business analytics team to track and measure performance and report on campaign effectiveness

• Manage and strengthen partner relationships with Google, Yahoo and other vendors to ensure account teams bring value through their services

• Ensure the channel is run in a well managed way, seeking approvals, documenting launches and looking for ways to optimize processes

• “Self-starter”, strong organizational skills, ownership mentality, ability to prioritize workloads, and fast learner of digital marketing

• Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversions, and online customer acquisition

• Ability to leverage the capabilities of high-performing team mates, as well as partners across the enterprise

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

• At least 4 years of experience planning, implementing and managing outbound marketing campaigns 

• At least 2 years of experience in people management

• At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:  

• At least 7 years of experience in display marketing and related experience managing high volume accounts and large media budgets

• 3+ years of experience in people management

• 2+ years of experience in project management

• 1+ year of experience in product development

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Marketing

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
