Job Description

A Case Manager oversees the support provided to the ligation team through use of technology. The role focus areas are calendar, client interaction, serving, filing, document management and bates stamping, scheduling, external and internal communications.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Duties Include:

  • Oversees all calendar deadlines and deposition scheduling.
  • Assist litigation team in designing, implementing, and maintaining litigation databases.
  • Serve pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and document demands and file documents with the courts.
  • Assist and Follow-up with new client questionnaire “care packages”, correspondence and documents to experts.
  • Negotiate medical liens and contact to obtain documents regarding health insurance, social security, medical records, and medical providers.
  • Organize and maintain all case files, and information concerning engagement, whether electronic or paper, in accordance with the law firm policies.
  • Draft legal documents for attorney(s) review.
  • Work with litigation team on communicating case status with clients and outside counsel as requested.

Requirements :

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of related experience.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple matters at once.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and case management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Investigative mind and strong research skills.
  • Working knowledge of legal database software.
  • Experience in preparing legal reports.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Supervisors – Reports to the Chief Legal Officer.

Status – Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Location – Beautiful office environment at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center, across from South Coast Plaza.

Salary – Starting at $70k, depending on experience.
